Why WatchTower OS exists

Most website tools give you a number and leave. You learn your score is 62, and nothing about which of the eleven things wrong with the page you should fix on Tuesday morning.

The others go the opposite way: a 40-page PDF that reads like a compliance exercise, produced once, filed, and never acted on.

We wanted the version in between — continuous, honest about its own limits, and specific enough that the next step is obvious.

What we decided early

Four choices that shaped everything after them.

Measured, never estimated

Every score comes from running the check against your live site. Performance is a real headless render, not a formula applied to your HTML. When a check cannot run, the report says so instead of quietly scoring it zero and blaming your server.

Say what was not tested

A report that hides its own coverage reads as an all-clear, and an all-clear you did not earn is worse than no report. Categories with no check behind them are printed as "not tested", separately from the passes.

Prove ownership first

Nothing is scanned until the domain passes DNS, file or meta verification, and pen testing needs a second, explicit, recorded authorisation on top of that. It makes onboarding slower. It also makes it impossible to point our scanners at someone else.

Explain the fix, not just the fault

Telling someone their CSP header is missing is not help. Every finding carries what it means, why it matters, the steps to fix it, and how to check the fix actually worked.

Where we are

WatchTower OS is a small, independent product, not a venture-funded platform with a sales floor. That shapes what you get: no minimum contract, no call with an account executive before you can see the thing, and a free plan that is a real plan rather than a two-week countdown.

It also shapes what you do not get. Card checkout is not connected yet — payment is by bKash, Nagad or Binance today, approved by a person, usually within a few hours. Lead Finder is announced but unbuilt. Both are stated plainly on the pricing page rather than implied to exist.

We would rather be short of features than short of the truth about them.
